Hygiene and efficient cleaning processes are essential in maintaining a high level of food safety. All surfaces and equipment must be easy to clean and keep clean while waste water from cleaning processes are disposed of quickly through an efficient drainage system.

Internal drainage splits broadly into 3 general applications:

Interception of fluids

The type of drainage selected – gully or channel, will depend on the nature of the operation and its requirements. Where drainage is required from machinery, splashing can be minimized by use of funnels above the drain body which provide an air gap between the drain and the machine water outlet.

Transport of fluids

Transport of contaminated water should preferably be achieved in a sealed pipe system. Use of open linear channel drainage systems lined in tiles or resin have been used in the past but are now no longer seen as a hygienic solution.

Barrier between zones, processes or rooms

Linear channel systems can be used to provide a physical barrier to fluids, and can be used to separate dry and wet areas

• Channel material edge and frame is 2mm thick and design with cross bar inside supporting the channel frame.

• Channel Edge Infill will Improve hygiene and minimize risk of deformation and flooring cracks.

• Anchor tangs will secure channels to the concrete floor preventing the separation resulting to open crevices when exposed to temperature fluctuations.

• Installation procedure is as per Blucher recommended and carried out by trained installer.

• In the area where the floor and channel are subjected to high temperature variation, the joint sealant must allow for expansion and contraction of the stainless material appropriately.

• Rounded corners on HygienicPro channel reduce the risk of joint deterioration and flooring cracks in resin flooring.
